Week 3: Money Matters - Why I Chose Private Pay (and What That Means for You)
Money and therapy often feel like tricky topics, but at Embolden Wellness & Counseling, transparency matters. As a private-pay provider, I’ve chosen to work outside the insurance system so clients can receive care without mandatory diagnoses, session caps, or outside oversight.
This approach creates more flexibility, privacy, and room for meaningful therapeutic work. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to help reduce financial barriers for those who need it.
In this week’s Notes from the Couch, I’m breaking down why I made this choice, how sliding scale works, and how this model can actually benefit you as a client.
