Meet Jen
(LPC-IT)

Founder of Embolden Wellness and Counseling

Counselor. Coach. Former teacher. Lifelong believer in resilience.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor–In Training (LPC-IT) based in Watertown, Wisconsin, I work with teens and adults across the state, supporting clients navigating anxiety, burnout, identity exploration, life transitions, grief, and more. I believe therapy is most effective when it’s rooted in genuine connection, guided by your values, and grounded in trust.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and always centered on the belief that you are the expert of your own life. I bring research-backed tools, curiosity, and care, but I also honor your lived experience, your pace, and your goals.

You're not broken and therapy isn't about fixing you. I’m not here to tell you who to be or hand you a checklist. I’m here to offer a safe space, steady support, and help you make sense of what’s weighing you down. Together, we’ll explore what’s no longer working, clarify what matters most, and begin building something more sustainable: strength, self-trust, and a life that feels more like your own.

While I completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marquette University and finished my internship in May 2025, my passion for helping individuals grow and achieve their goals began long before my formal training. I hold a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Educational Psychology from UW–Madison and spent over a decade teaching 4K through 8th grade. That time taught me how to meet people where they are, how to listen for what’s not being said, and how to hold space for both challenge and possibility.

I also spent more than five years as a CrossFit coach and trainer, helping people move through resistance—physically and mentally. That experience continues to deepen my appreciation for the mind-body connection and the importance of wellness practices that support resilience. As a coach and trainer, I saw firsthand the power of showing up—again and again—for yourself and for others. Teaching and coaching also reminded me just how healing it can be to have someone in your corner.

At Embolden Wellness and Counseling, I bring together these threads—counselor, educator, and coach—to support clients in living more connected, empowered, and authentic lives. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. Therapy is your space to explore, heal, and grow, and I’m honored to walk alongside you on that journey.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a lifelong learner, a lover of stories, and someone who values humor, honesty, and heart. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and finding new places to explore.

My Mission

At Embolden Wellness and Counseling, I believe healing begins when we’re invited to show up as we truly are—imperfect, in progress, and still wholly worthy. My mission is to walk alongside individuals as they reclaim their stories, rediscover their strengths, and rise with quiet courage into lives aligned with their values. Rooted in evidence-based and holistic care, I honor each person’s journey, whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, or finding a way to remove the masks we wear just to get through the challenges of life. Like a flame that flickers but never goes out, or a seed breaking through stone, I see resilience not as loud or flashy, but as steady, sacred, and deeply human. I exist to create a space that feels safe, strong, and real, where growth doesn’t have to be perfect, and where empowerment means coming home to yourself.

The Guiding Principles of Embolden

  • Whole Person Mental Health Care

You are more than a diagnosis. Your care should reflect that.

Mental health is deeply personal, and healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why I offer individualized therapy grounded in evidence-based practices — shaped by your lived experience, identity, and values. Whether you're managing anxiety, navigating life transitions, coping with family challenges, moving through grief, feeling stuck in burnout, or just trying to make sense of the world around you, I meet you with curiosity and compassion, not checklists.

Here, you're seen as a whole person — not just a collection of symptoms. We’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and environment while also honoring your strengths and the life you want to build. Therapy is about more than ā€œfixingā€ what’s wrong; it’s about reconnecting with what’s already within you.

  • Support Through Life’s Challenges

Emotional support for times of change — big or small.

For teens and adults moving through change, identity shifts, or times of uncertainty, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and realign. Whether you're navigating adolescence, early adulthood, parenting, caregiving, career changes, or loss, these transitions can stir up stress, self-doubt, and deep questions about who you are and where you’re headed.

Change can feel exciting, overwhelming, disorienting — or all of the above. Together, we’ll slow down and make sense of what’s shifting. We’ll process what’s hard, clarify what matters, and build tools for moving forward in ways that align with your values and vision.

When life feels heavy, you don’t have to carry it alone. I’m here to help you hold it, sort it, and move through it with intention.

  • Empowerment Through Values-Aligned Living

    Empowered living starts from within.

Rooted in research. Grounded in heart. Therapy can help you build self-trust, set healthy boundaries, and live a life that feels like yours.

I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches — including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths-Based Counseling — to help you reconnect with your purpose and reclaim your voice. Whether you’re navigating self-doubt, people-pleasing, burnout, or a desire for change, therapy offers a space to realign.

Together, we’ll explore who you are, what matters most, and how to live in alignment — with compassion, courage, and clarity guiding the way.

  • Rooted in Wellness

Healing is more than symptom relief — it’s living in connection with your mind, body, and spirit.

At Embolden Wellness & Counseling, I believe that wellness is an ongoing journey — not a destination. It’s the daily, intentional practice of honoring your emotional needs, tending to your physical health, nurturing your inner life, and making space for what restores you.

Our work supports this full-spectrum wellness. Whether we’re exploring stress, movement, boundaries, rest, or the stories you carry, my approach invites you to reconnect with yourself in ways that feel steady, sustainable, and soul-deep.

Because thriving isn’t just surviving — it’s feeling whole.
